Pakistan invites PM Modi to the SCO meet in Islamabad

Pakistan has extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government meeting in Islamabad this October.

Pakistan, holding the rotating chairmanship of the SCO Council, will host the two-day in-person meeting on October 15-16. According to a Foreign Office Spokesperson, invitations have been sent to the heads of the member countries, including Mr. Modi.

Before the summit, there will be a Ministerial meeting and several rounds of senior officials' discussions focusing on financial, economic, socio-cultural, and humanitarian cooperation among SCO members.

The SCO is a major international group that includes India, China, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. It has emerged as one of the largest trans-regional organizations, emphasizing the importance of regional and international cooperation, even among nations with complex bilateral relationships.
